Cotton Classing & Testing training 2013

Eleven international delegates successfully completed our ‘Cotton Classing & Testing’ training programme.

The seven day programme took place in Bremen, Germany from 28 May – 5 June and was delivered by industry experts from ICA Bremen and the Bremen Fibre Institute (FIBRE). The training concentrated purely on quality issues in raw cotton.

Following the training, ICA Bremen course deliverer, Karsten Froese, said: “This was a comprehensive training programme which offered a unique chance for participants to receive practical training in different kinds of quality measurements. Due to the interactive nature of the training, we were able to give participants the personal attention they needed to meet the bespoke needs of their firms – something we will continue to offer as part of the training course in future.”

Darren Cover (Proclass PTY Ltd) was one of the delegates who benefited from the training: “Congratulations ICA Bremen on putting together such a great course! I have definitely walked away with valuable information with regards to classing cotton globally and will apply this to our company back here in Australia. Karsten and Axel delivered the course content magnificently!

Another delegate, Carlos De La O Perez (FC Stone), said; “I have been to various cotton classing training programmes and this is the best by far”.

The training incorporated a wide range of modules – from the classification of cotton from various growths to practical HVI training on the latest Uster 1000 and Premier ART2 machines. It also included a trip to a local warehouse sponsored by ESF (Ellmers Shipping and Forwarding GmbH), a welcome meal sponsored by PREMIER and a farewell meal sponsored by Uster Technologies AG.

The next ‘Cotton Classing & Testing’ training programme will take place in 2014 – the exact date is yet to be confirmed. Find out more and to add your name to the 2014 delegate list.
